Research Program Evaluation

BHRCS can provide program evaluation services for both ongoing programs and new, innovative interventions in Health and Behavioral Health. The array of evaluation services includes evaluation capacity building, external evaluation, and collaboration with other agencies in grant funded evaluation and research activities.

Internal evaluation capacity building – This is suitable for agencies that are interested in ongoing evaluation of their programs and would like to perform most of these tasks in-house. (Example: Quality Management, Performance Evaluation, Management Decision-Making). BHRCS will work with clients in identifying and clarifying the nature of evaluation needs, developing methodologies, data collection, analysis and report writing. As part of evaluation capacity building, BHRCS will simultaneously train key staff in all areas of internal evaluation and provide ongoing consultancy services.

External evaluation – External evaluation is often needed as a result of funding and oversight requirements and/or agency need for independent evaluation of its programs. Ideally, BHRCS will work with the agency from the inception of a project. However, BHRCS can also provide evaluation services for ongoing programs in a variety of ways including developing performance indicators, needs assessment, formative, and outcomes evaluation.

Grant collaboration – BHRCS will collaborate with other agencies in developing service and research grants in the areas of program effectiveness, clinical trials, research design using both quantitative and qualitative methods, data collection, analysis, and report writing. Such collaboration will include working with community health and behavioral health service providers, other research institutes and universities, as well as internally with other BHRCS researchers.
